2. What Data We Collect

ProductivityPulse collects the following data locally on your device:

• Work session start and end times
• Break types and durations
• Website domain names and time spent (not page content, not full URLs)
• Productivity scores computed from your activity patterns
• Your extension settings and preferences
• Optional day ratings (1–5 stars) and personal notes you choose to add

3. What Data We Do NOT Collect

• Page content, text, images or any website content
• Form inputs, passwords, or any personal information typed on websites
• Full URLs (only root domain names, e.g. github.com)
• Data from Incognito / private browsing windows (disabled by default)
• Any data from domains you mark as excluded in Privacy Settings
• Location data, device identifiers, or hardware information

4. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used solely to provide the extension's features:

• Displaying your work time, breaks, and productivity reports
• Generating personalised productivity recommendations
• Tracking streaks, badges, and goals
• Syncing your data across devices (only if you opt in)

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the extension's functionality to you.

5. Cloud Sync (Optional)

Cloud sync is entirely optional. If you choose to enable it:

• Your data is stored in a Firebase (Google Cloud) database
• Access is authenticated via your Google account — only you can access your data
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by Firebase
• You can disable sync and request deletion of cloud data at any time

Firebase is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy

6. Google Sign-In

If you use Cloud Sync, you sign in with your Google account. We request the following Google OAuth scopes:

We never post to your Google Calendar, send emails on your behalf, or access any Google data beyond what is listed above.

7. Google Calendar Integration (Optional)

If you enable Calendar integration, the extension reads your Google Calendar events for the current day only — to display meeting times and send pre-meeting alerts. Calendar data is never stored permanently or shared with any third party.

9. Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google): Used for optional cloud sync. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Used for processing Pro subscription payments. Stripe handles all payment data — we never see your card details. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Google Calendar API: Used only when you enable Calendar integration. Read-only access to your primary calendar for the current day.

10. Data Retention

• Local data is automatically pruned after 365 days
• You can export all data as JSON at any time from Settings → Data
• You can delete all local data instantly from Settings → Data → Clear All Data
• Cloud sync data can be deleted from your Firebase Console

11. Your Rights

You have full control over your data at all times:

• Access: Export all data as JSON from Settings → Data
• Delete: Clear all data with one click from Settings → Data
• Portability: Export as CSV or JSON at any time
• Opt out of sync: Disable cloud sync — data stays local only
• Revoke Google access: Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove ProductivityPulse

12. Children's Privacy

ProductivityPulse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through our extension, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
